DRWO 4.0 training in Austria: Students of the Pan-European University "Apeiron" in the focus of European innovations

Pan-European University "Apeiron" is pleased to report on the participation of its students, Daniel Menićanin and Jelena Radanović, in the international Train the Trainers training, organized within the DRWO 4.0 project. The event was held at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in Austria and brought together experts from the education and industry sectors across Europe.

As members of the Innovation Center of the Pan-European University, our students have demonstrated an enviable level of professionalism and willingness to actively participate in topics related to digitalization and sustainable development in the wood industry.

Activity program:

The first day was dedicated to intensive training in LEAN methodology, led by Nedeljko Štefanić from Culmena Ltd. The focus was on the application of concrete tools to improve efficiency and reduce losses in production processes, with the active involvement of participants through practical examples and discussions.

The program continued with expert lectures and presentations on the topic of transformation towards Industry 4.0, with an emphasis on:

• digitized prototyping,
• green biomaterials,
• design of wooden products,
• strategic approaches to digitization of production.

Special attention was paid to the study visit to Holztechnikum Kuchl, where students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about innovations in sustainable construction and modern technical solutions in wood processing.

On the second day of the program, a tour of production facilities was conducted, including a visit to the renowned Weinberger company, where students were able to see the application of digitalized processes in a real industrial environment.

This two-day event was also a valuable opportunity for international networking, knowledge exchange, and development of professional contacts with students and experts from other countries.

The Pan-European University "Apeiron" continues to support mobility, innovation and the active involvement of its students in European educational and research streams.
