Artificial intelligence is a current topic in the field of sports




Today, March 14, the 14th international scientific meeting of the Pan-European University "Sports Sciences and Health" began.

Rector, prof. Dr. Sanel Jakupović opened the conference, which this year is richer for 38 scientific papers, 90 authors and co-authors from 50 institutions, domestic and from the Russian Federation, China, Serbia, Thailand, Montenegro, Croatia, North Macedonia and Italy.


At the plenary session, in the introductory presentation, we listened to prof. Vladan Pelemiš, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Teachers, University of Belgrade, who spoke about the importance of artificial intelligence that can improve the learning process and the advantages of virtual reality on the physical performance of students.


  • "We investigated whether the application of virtual reality - VR in the process of additional treatment of physical exercise can improve the physical performance of students. The experiment lasted 8 weeks with two groups of students, with the use of a VR system (glasses for virtual reality) and without VR. The result showed that the positive effects of VR are visible in the better aerobic endurance of the students. Virtual reality also motivated children more to work." said Professor Plemiš.

The introduction was also prof. Dr. Lejla Šebić, from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Sarajevo, who presented the paper "Postnatal fitness - the importance of exercise after pregnancy for mothers and babies".


The organizer of the scientific meeting is the Pan-European University "Apeiron" Banja Luka and its members, the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Faculty of Health Sciences. The conference was also held online this year.


  • "Very current topics are present, as every year. The conference was included in the ranking list of categorized meetings of the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska as a scientific meeting with international participation. We are looking forward to our jubilee, 15th conference and thinking a lot about it", said prof. Ph.D. Velibor Srdić, president of the Conference Organizing Committee and dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences of "Apeiron" University. He added that the work will continue tomorrow at 10 a.m.

There are three thematic areas of the scientific meeting - sports and health, physical education and school sports, training technology in sports and primarily deal with the connection between sports and human health.


The co-organizers of the scientific meeting are the National Pedagogical University from Kazakhstan, the Lipetsk Pedagogical University from Russia, the Vocational School for the Education of Teachers and Trainers in Subotica, the Faculty of Sports and Tourism, Novi Sad, and the Gerlev Sports Academy, Denmark.


The conference is intended for physical education professors, sports trainers, doctors, pedagogues, psychologists, sports organizations, sports managers and other experts related to sports and health.


The Pan-European University publishes the international journal "Sports Science and Health" twice a year, which is indexed in several international citation databases, and Elsevier Scopus and Erich Plus are some of them.
