"Your project for the future"

The Faculty of Information Technology is a major in the basic scientific fields of computer science (basics of programming, algorithm theory, architecture and organization of computer systems, operating systems, network computing, programming languages, software engineering - modeling, analysis and software design, software management, human-computer interaction , graphics and visualization, artificial intelligence, information management - database theory and practice, relational and distributed databases, legal, ethical and professional aspects of computing), information technology (information security and security, platform technologies, IT systems administration and maintenance) , technical support), areas of information systems (system-analysis and logical design of IS, design of information systems, implementation of information systems, maintenance of information systems, development of specific types of IS, distributed systems), areas of computer engineering (engineering computer systems, networking and telecommunications) and in secondary scientific fields that are also studied at the Faculty, and which are the basis of an interdisciplinary approach: (mathematical analysis, discrete mathematical structures, algorithm theory, probability and statistics, numerical methods and operational research, general systems theory, organization theory, decision theory, information theory, project management, pedagogical informatics, cryptography, E-business, change management, interpersonal relationships and communication skills.

Second cycle studies are individual studies, designed to suit the student, which are performed by a system of personal mentoring, conducting instructive and consultative classes and exercises and organizing scientific research projects of students. Second cycle studies are organized in the duration of:

  • two years, as four-semester studies, which are evaluated with 120 ECTS credit points (for students who have completed a three-year level of the first cycle of studies with an entry level of 180 ECTS credit points);
  • one year, as two-semester studies, which are evaluated with a minimum of 60 ECTS credit points (for students who have completed a four-year level of the first cycle of studies with an entry level of 240 ECTS credit points);

Thus, in the sum of the first cycle, the total accumulated credit points, after completing the study of the second cycle, amount to 300 ECTS credits.

A person who has completed the first cycle study in three or four years can enroll in the second cycle study. Depending on the scientific field of the first cycle study, which the candidate has completed, there are three options when enrolling in the second cycle study:

  • If the study of the first cycle in the field of motherland is the enrolled study of the second cycle, the candidate is enrolled without additional pedagogical obligations.
  • If the study of the first cycle is partially registered with the scientific areas of registration of the enrolled study of the second cycle, the candidate is assigned a differential program which compensates for the missing competencies. The content of the differential program is determined by the Commission for the recognition of exams and evaluation of study programs. The differential program cannot exceed 60 ECTS credits.
  • If the study of the first cycle is not the main one with the scientific areas of the enrollment of the enrolled study of the second cycle, the possibilities of enrolling the candidate depend on the specifics of the basic scientific field of the study program. Students who have completed the first cycle of studies in the field of "natural sciences" and "engineering and technology" can enroll, provided that they enroll in a two-year master's study in which the first year is actually the fourth year of first cycle studies.
ESSENCE OF THE ALLIANCE - Cooperation Agreement

Our study programs and the results we achieve in the field of IT education were recognized by Bit Alliance, the leading umbrella organization of the BiH software industry, with which we signed a Cooperation Agreement. Bit Alliance is an association of the largest software companies with more than 1800 employees. The main goal of the Alliance is to develop numerous opportunities in the software industry market, creating a positive business environment for further growth of the BiH IT industry. One of the core missions of the Alliance is to develop strong relationships with educational institutions with the aim of improving IT education programs and providing more learning opportunities. The signed agreement refers to 3 segments of cooperation:

  1. BITA4students lectures by IT experts
  2. CoderDojo programming school
  3. Adapting the Apeiron curriculum to the needs of the software industry
