"APEIRON" AND TWO UNIVERSITIES FROM RUSSIA HELD A SEMINAR FOR RUSSIAN LANGUAGE TEACHERS OF ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

On April 25, the Pan-European University "Apeiron" held an online International Scientific and Methodological Seminar "Theory and Practice of Teaching the Russian Language in Primary and Secondary Schools in the Republic of Srpska". The seminar was held within the Russian Language Cabinet in cooperation with the "Russian Peace" Foundation. The co-organizers of the seminar were the State Institute of the Russian Language "AS Pushkin" (Moscow) and Tyumen State University (Tyumen) from Russia. The initiator of the seminar was Associate Professor of the Faculty of Philological Sciences of the University "Apeiron", Prof. Dr. Alexander Shuklin.

The participants of the seminar were addressed with welcome speeches by: the dean of the Faculty of Philological Sciences of the University "Apeiron", prof. Ph.D Katarina Držajić-Laketic; Acting Vice-Rector - Head of the Department for International Cooperation of the Institute of the Russian Language "AS Pushkin" Svetlana Georgievna Persianova, as well as the director of the Center for International Cooperation of Tyumen State University Natalija Genadjevna Chebotareva.

The seminar featured presentations by 18 professors of Russian as a foreign language from Republika Srpska, Serbia, Russia, North Macedonia and China. Colleagues shared their work experiences and gave recommendations on the use of new methods and forms of teaching Russian.

Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Belgrade, PhD Marijana Paprić, she shared her experience in creating the textbook "To meet Russia" for secondary schools. This textbook is used for teaching the Russian language in the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.

Director of the Institute of Russian as a Foreign Language, Tula State Pedagogical University "Leo Tolstoy" (Russia), Prof. Dr. Nelli Aleksandrovna Krasovskaya In her presentation, she spoke about the results of evaluating essays by schoolchildren from the Republika Srpska as part of the Russian Language Olympiad.

At the seminar, full professor of the Department of Russian Language and Literature at the University of Pristina, Prof. Dr., presented their reports. Jelena Bajović, professor emeritus of "Apeiron" University, prof. Ph.D Branimir Covic, professor emeritus of "Apeiron" University, prof. Ph.D Larisa Covic, and assistant professor at the University of Banja Luka Galina-Marija Micic.

All presentations at the seminar were intended for listeners - teachers of the Russian language in primary and secondary schools in the Republika Srpska. The participants discussed the current position of the Russian language in the education system of the Republika Srpska, Russian language teaching programs in primary and secondary schools, as well as modern methods of teaching the Russian language in the Serbian-speaking environment.

The high level of seminar content and the participation of renowned Russian scholars confirm that the Pan-European University "Apeiron" is one of the leading centers of Russian studies in our region.
