Be a challenge to your teachers - said Rector Jakupović to the freshmen at the ceremonial class

"Be active in the classroom. Stand out, be noticed by teachers. Challenge them, ask questions, elaborate. Professors can learn a lot from you", said the rector of Pan-European University "Apeiron" prof. Dr. Sanel Jakupović to freshmen at the first formal class held on Monday, October 2.

"I want to encourage all of you to make this period in your life meaningful. Feel free to search for your interests. Think critically and study in an interdisciplinary way. Talk and listen to each other, learning and understanding grows in the community, not only in lectures. This community is an opportunity to find yourself, to grow, learn and create your own path.

He invited newly enrolled students to immediately join the Student Parliament, to find out everything about the Erasmus+ program, international mobility and ways to spend part of their studies abroad, which can give them valuable experience for a lifetime and friends around the world.

The rector also had a message for his colleagues, deans, and professors: "I wish you an interesting and exciting new academic year. In addition to being great teachers, I invite you to think about what a role model you are to our students as researchers. Give these young people, now our students, access to your expertise and offer them inspiring discussions. You are their best chance to be inspired by research, so that they can connect their future with that research. Maybe some of these wonderful young people will start their research career with you in a few years. Take care of them dear, fellow professors!

The Rector emphasized that everyone - professors, teaching and research and other staff and students - build the university community of Apeiron together. "Let's build it by appreciating each other, listening and learning from each other, giving space to our own and other people's ideas, making it safe for each of its members through their own actions".

Aleksandra Roljić, president of the Student Parliament of "Apeiron" University, also greeted her colleagues and freshmen.

"I can tell you first hand that here you will have conditions for studies worthy of a student, studies at the international level. My best decision was to choose our and now your "Apeiron". You're here, you have a chance - it's up to you to take it.
