On World Environment Day, students will measure air quality

On the occasion of the World Environment Day, which is celebrated on June 5, a mobile laboratory for air quality testing of the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republika Srpska will be set up in front of "Apeiron" University a day later, on June 6, from 11 a.m. to 13 p.m. Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences will be familiar with the way air quality is checked.

The idea of World Environment Day was formalized at the Stockholm Conference. This significant date was first marked in 1974, and the event has grown into the largest global platform for environmental protection. "Only One Earth" is the slogan of the 2022 campaign, with a focus on "Living sustainably in harmony with nature".

This International Day involves governments, companies, non-governmental organizations, schools, celebrities, cities and communities, raising awareness and implementing environmental actions to protect the environment.

Each year, World Environment Day is hosted by a different country where official celebrations are held. The host country in 2022 is Sweden, when there will be an opportunity to showcase some of Sweden's pioneering environmental work over the past 50 years.
