OUR RECTOR AT THE SIXTH ECONOMIC FORUM OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Our rector at the sixth Economic Forum of Bosnia and Herzegovina





Prof. Dr. Sanel Jakupović, rector of the Pan-European University, on June 28 in Sarajevo, participated in the sixth Economic Forum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which focused on the challenges of post-pandemic, global crisis times, and the role of green financing in achieving the goals of sustainable development in the world and the Western Balkans.


The forum was organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Institute of Economics, as part of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the existence of this faculty.


Global challenges were discussed by Ismail Serageldin, founder and director of the Library of Alexandria, recipient of over 35 honorary doctorates, academician of ten world academies, vice-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and former vice-chairman of the World Bank (1992-2000), then Ismahane Elouafi, chief scientist at the Organization for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, James Stewart, President of the Management Board of Raiffeisen BANK dd Bosnia and Herzegovina and Jasmin Mahmuzić, Director of the Banking Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.


Ivana Vojinović, Director of the Center for Climate Change, Natural Resources and Energy at UDG (University of Donja Gorica) and former General Director for the Environment in the Government of Montenegro, Senida Mesi, former Prime Minister of Albania, and today President of the Center for Economic Development and Environment (EDEC ) and member of the executive board of the Regional Academy for Democratic Development (ADD), Adnan Delić, Minister of Economy in the Government of Sarajevo Canton, and Jasmin Hošo, CEO of Tondach Bosnia and Herzegovina spoke about the mobilization of green financing for the purpose of renewal and acceleration of progress towards the realization of sustainable development goals .


The organizers point out that the basic idea of ​​the Forum is to establish a unique platform that connects representatives of the business community, academia and economic policy makers, in order to promote entrepreneurial initiatives and partnerships, the cultivation of public-private dialogue and the presentation of scientific and technological solutions for the improvement of the sustainable development of the country and the region.
