Out of 22 scientific and professional papers by local authors and authors from Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia, on December 13, at the two-day international scientific and professional conference "Harmonization of domestic law with the legal acquis of the European Union", organized by the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the University "Apeiron" reports were also presented by the Minister of Justice Miloš Bukejlović and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska prof. Siniša Karan, Ph.D. On the first day of the conference, on 12 December, the director of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, professor Dr. Enes Hašić, attended the gathering.


"I really did not believe that such a university, one of the best in Bosnia and Herzegovina, could be created. And this conference speaks for itself that we are at a successful University. Where does quality begin? Well, here, in this place, at a higher education institution", director Enes Hašić told the participants.


Minister Miloš Bukejlović accompanied the author, prof. Dr. Ljubinka Mitrović, dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences "Apeirona", participated as a co-author and presented a paper entitled "The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina - from the protector of the Constitution to its biggest violator". "Foreign judges have no place in the work of the BiH court. The Constitutional Court in its current composition has no legitimacy because there are no judges from the Republika Srpska," said the Minister of Justice of the Republika Srpska. He adds that it is necessary to regulate the composition of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as possible with a special law.


Teacher of "Apeiron" University, minister, prof. Siniša Karan, Ph.D., spoke on the topic "Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights - the process of unitarization and majorization". The minister stressed that the Dayton Agreement, annex four, must be respected. "The essence of the functioning of BiH is respect for the equality of the 3 constituent peoples and the territorial principle of BiH, that is, the equality of the entities," Minister Karan pointed out.


Those present were greeted by the president of the Organizational and Program Committee of the Conference, dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, prof. Dr. Ljubinko Mitrović, and the rector, Prof. Dr. Sanel Jakupović, officially opened the scientific conference. One of the papers we heard during the conference was the work of academician prof. Dr. Miodrag Simović, who spoke about the right to life and bodily integrity. "The landmark of what scientific journals should look like is the Yearbook of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the University "Apeiron". And today this is a respectable scientific gathering with respectable names of authors", emphasized Academician Simović, former judge and president of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the scientific gathering, we also heard the research achievements of former students of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of "Apeiron" University, today experts in the field of law - Jovanka Delić, MSc, and Jane Ivanović Grahovac, MSc.


From Hungary, online, prof. Dr. László István Gál, and his topic is: SOME ISSUES OF THE CONNECTION BETWEEN BIOSECURITY AND CRIMINAL LAW. Guest from Macedonia prof. PhD Tatjana Gerginova spoke about the role of the Western Balkans in building Euro-Atlantic security.


Veljko Ikanović, judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Srpska and also a professor at the "Apeiron" University, focused his research, which he shared with the other participants of the conference, on the compatibility of the criminal legal protection of the environment in the Republic of Srpska with EU law.


One of the interesting topics was certainly "Non-discrimination as a basic principle of employment procedures in the civil service in Bosnia and Herzegovina", authored by prof. Ph.D. Jasmina Bešlagić
