Faculty of Information Technologies

Our student Aleksandar Rujević graduated from the Faculty of Information Technologies of "Apeiron" University before the New Year holidays and in his final paper presented a Web/mobile application that can save someone's life by collecting blood faster.

Aleksandar pointed out that using this application would facilitate and speed up the blood collection process, because only the target groups of people who can donate blood would be informed, and on the other hand, all the necessary data for transfusion would be found in the application.

Diploma thesis under the correct title DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION AND NOTIFICATION OF VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONORS Aleksandar made it under the mentorship of the rector, academician prof. Dr. Zorana Ž. Avramović.

"The goal of the application is to collect and have data on blood donors and blood groups. In the event that blood is urgently needed, it is possible to react immediately and contact the target group of donors, via email, regional SMS or some other way, based on the record of who can and is allowed to donate blood.", said the candidate whose work could bring enormous benefits in blood collection campaigns.

From the moment of registration of a new donor, this application would store all relevant data about him (such as: name, surname, address, blood group, phone number, email, when he last donated blood, etc.) in the database.

When the donor makes the decision to donate blood, he declares it in the same way he was notified (and he can also do it in another way). After that, he receives the necessary information about the hospital where the blood is donated, in which clinic and at what time.

With just one click, it is possible to notify all users who have a certain blood type that is in demand and forward all the necessary information to them. The application could be expanded according to the needs and requirements of the users. There is the possibility of extending it to pets as well.
