"APEIRON" UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED ITS 20TH BIRTHDAY IN A PACKED HALL OF THE GOVERNOR'S PALACE

On Tuesday, February 18, in the packed large concert hall of the Banski Dvor, the Pan-European University "Apeiron" celebrated 20 years of existence and work with guests from the broad academic and social community, with friends, associates, professors, students and its employees.

As befits a host, our rector, Prof. Dr. Sanel Jakupović, addressed the audience and did not hide his pride in the years behind us and in the generations of students who represent the results of successful work in the best possible way.

"The mission of the University is to educate future leaders capable of creating a sustainable social, economic and technological strategy for the state. Our main goals are aimed at meeting the needs of our students, the wider academic and social community in the Republika Srpska, BiH and the international environment, in line with the contemporary challenges of today and future development perspectives. On this occasion, I would like to especially emphasize that a high level of quality and excellence in higher education are our permanent goals," said Rector Jakupović.

The President of the Board of Directors of the Pan-European University, Darko Uremović, emphasized that for decades, professors of "Apeiron" have been passionate about their work - transmitting knowledge.

"Our professors are not only prominent doctors of science, members of the academic community, scientific researchers, but they are also exceptional educators," emphasized Darko Uremović.

Strong and motivational messages came from the speakers who greeted the audience and wished them a happy birthday.

"Two public universities and the University of "Apeiron" face a great task, to teach and educate new generations," said the Chairman of the Rectors' Conference of the Republic of Srpska and the Rector of the University of East Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Milan Kulić, in his address to the guests.

Director of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Enes Hašić, briefly said: "All higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina should emulate the Pan-European University "Apeiron".

The ceremonial program included the awarding of awards to the best students and teachers of the University of "Apeiron", as well as plaques and letters of appreciation to deserving institutions and organizations. The premiere presentation of the awards that the University awards to the best teachers in the form of a charter for academic excellence and quality in higher education, named after the prominent scientist and academic worker, long-time professor of the Pan-European University "Apeiron" and president of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska - Academician Rajko Kuzmanović, was also held.

A film and a monograph were premiered, telling the story of the creation, development and successes of the Apeiron University in the period from 2005 to 2025. The cultural part of the program was performed by students of the Vlado Milošević Secondary Art School from Banja Luka and drama artists and program hosts Jelena Jandrić and Velimir Blanić.
