PARTNERS FROM AUSTRIA READY FOR A NEW STUDY PROGRAM WITH APEIRON.

Conference on Economic Development and Living Standards "EDASOL 2017" was held on October 27, 2017. This is the seventh year in a row that the Faculty of Business Economics of the Pan-European University "Apeiron" has organized a scientific meeting of this type. The theme of EDASOL 2017 is: “SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTREPRENEURSHIP - PERSPECTIVES AND LIMITATIONS".

Marian Wakounig, professor at the University of Vienna, in front of the Ministry of Finance of Austria, spoke on the topic "The importance of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Austrian tax system" in the introductory presentation. He emphasized that businessmen in Bosnia and Herzegovina should be made more aware that they are not cheating the state, and that it pays them back by supporting the strengthening of competitiveness, and that our country could adopt the model of the tax system of Austria, which is among the richest EU countries.

The partners from Austria are ready to establish the international study program INTERNATIONAL TAX DEPARTMENT with the Pan-European University, given the top quality and previous work of the Faculty of Business Economics of this University, Professor Wakounig added.

"EDASOL 2017" was opened by academician prof. Dr. Rajko Kuzmanović, who said that such gatherings give a strong incentive to the authorities, businessmen and enterprising citizens to work even faster and without reservation on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

- This is an imperative imposed on us by this time, stressed the academician.

The scientific meeting was attended by the director of the Indirect Taxation Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prof. Dr. Miro Džakula, director of Croatia Airlines, Jasmin Bajić, academics of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska and many scientific workers from surrounding countries.

This year at Edasol, Mihaela Mikić, a professor from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Zagreb, presented scientific research to the public regarding the perspectives of women in entrepreneurship in Croatia.

This year, EDASOL aimed to consider the perspectives and limitations of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship (SME) in the countries of Southeast Europe in the light of European integration processes, as well as other global socio-economic trends. Of the 20 million companies that exist in the European Union, 99% are small and medium-sized companies. They contribute 60% to the gross domestic product of the European Union and provide 80 million jobs. This concretely means that SMEs employ two thirds of the total number of employees in the private sector in the EU. Small and medium enterprises are the engine of economic development. They promote private property and entrepreneurial skills. According to many experts and economists, SMEs are synonymous with the private sector, and figuratively for entrepreneurship. Their comparative advantage is in flexibility, the ability to adapt to changes and meet the needs of the market. In EU countries, governments pass regulations focused on supporting SMEs and encouraging their growth and competitiveness.

The works of the participants of the "EDASOL 2017" conference, depending on the fulfillment of the criteria, may be selected for review in EMC Review - Journal of Market Communications of the Pan-European University "Apeiron", which entered the prestigious world Thomson Reuters database this summer, emphasized Prof. Dr. Sanel Jakupović, editor of the magazine, dean of the Faculty of Business Economics and president of the "EDASOL 2017" organizing committee.

The academic community and other relevant researchers from our country and surrounding countries contributed to the meeting with their scientific works in numerous thematic areas: SMEs and entrepreneurship, female entrepreneurship, social (social) entrepreneurship, innovation and entrepreneurship, student entrepreneurship, cooperative entrepreneurship, philosophy of entrepreneurship , entrepreneurship and socially responsible business, sources of funding for entrepreneurship and many other topics.
