A teacher in the scientific-teaching title of full-time professor who is employed full-time at the Pan-European University can be elected as rector.
The rector of the university is elected for a period of four years and can be re-elected.
The rector is independent in the performance of tasks within its scope and for its work in the domain of academic issues, it is accountable to the Senate of the Pan-European University, and in the domain of business, it is accountable to the Board of Directors of the Pan-European University.
