You should arrive in Banja Luka a week or two before the beginning of the Erasmus mobility period in order to complete all the necessary paperwork and find accommodation. Be aware that late arrival may result by not finishing all the obligations.

You will receive exact arrival dates in your welcome email, but to be sure you should check the Academic calendar. 

residence Residence registration

It is important that during your mobility to Banja Luka (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina) you have (and use during entrance/exit) valid passport. Passport will be important document for regulating residence permit. Check validity of your passport (it is important that your passport is valid, meaning that it will not expire during your stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bringing passport is a MUST for students (since you are staying here longer than 3 months for academic purposes, you will need to sort out your Residence permit 
Note: Citizens of the European Union Member States do not require visa for entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina which of course applies to students – citizens of the EU Member States. They do not need to obtain student visa. However, in order to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina longer than three (3) months for academic/administrative purposes it is required to regulate your residence permit. Citizens of non-European countries need to check if they need student visa to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina with the embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in their home countries.

permit Residence permit

 is a document that allows a foreigner to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina for certain period on time (for you, it is a period of your academic/administrative mobility). It is required to be issued in the first 30 days of students/staff arrival. This document is issued by the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In order to obtain this permit, you need to collect certain documents and bring it personally to the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

international The International Relations Office (IRO)

The International Relations Office of the University Apeiron Banja Luka coordinates all academic programs at the University level and provides specialist support to students who come from outside BiH. Out coming students are free to contact our IRO for any ambiguities, while staying in our city. Here you can get all the necessary information, important for your stay in Banja Luka.

Therefore, upon arrival, all international students are required to register at the International Relations Office.
